By 2004, bad blood had been lingering between two of the UFC's most popular fighters for quite some time. Ortiz claimed that he and Chuck had an agreement never to fight one another, as they had formerly trained together. Liddell claimed no such agreement existed.
Whatever the case, any and all friendly agreements were set aside when the two MMA superstars faced off at UFC 47.
